Birch leaf extract dry and thick
Mass fraction of moisture in the dry extract is not more than 10%. Mass fraction in the thick extract is not more than 50%. Mass fraction of insoluble substances in water is not more than 5%. Mass fraction of flavonoids (in terms of rutin) in the dry extract is not less than 2.5%. Mass fraction of flavonoids (in terms of rutin) in the thick extract is not less than 1.0%. Birch leaves contain an essential oil with a pleasant balsamic smell (up to 0.8%), which includes sesquiterpene alcohol betulol (20-47%) and its esters with acetic acid (30-40%), bicyclic sesquiterpenic lactone betulen, triterpene bicyclic alcohols, triterpenoids betulin. Flavonic flavonol glycosides (1.96-5.56%) are also found in the leaves: hyperoside, rutin, avikulyarin; tannins, coumarins, phenol carboxylic acids, vitamins E, C, PP, carotenoids. Birch buds contain essential oil (0.2-8%), consisting of betulol sesquiterpene alcohol (25-47%) and its esters with acetic acid (30-40%), betulenic and palmitic acid, bicyclic sesquiterpenic lactones of betulen, sesquiterpene B - karyofilen and its monoxide, triterpene bicyclic alcohols a-, B- and y-betulenols - 1.8-14%, a-betulenol acetate, betulin triterpenoid, alkaloids (0.1%) of naphthalene, paraffin, yellow dye, n- pentacosan resin (5-hydroxy-7,4-dimethoxyflavone). Also in the buds of birch contain flavone flavonol glycosides (1.96-5.56%): hyperoside (0.8-1.5%), 5-hydroxy-7,4-dimethoxyflavone (0.3%), 3-glucuronide quercetin (0.25%), isorhamnetin, other derivatives of kaempferol and apigenin; sterols, tannins (1.07–9%), bitterness, coumarins (0.09–0.44%), anthocyanins, resins (betulester), butyl betulotinate ester, 8–10% sugars, inositol, ascorbic (to 2.8%) and nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, carotene.
